Since 1995, the German José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation has been fighting with great passion to ensure that leukaemia will one day be curable for everyone. The star tenor José Carreras, who was diagnosed with leukaemia himself in 1987, has been tirelessly dedicated to the goal of continuously improving treatment options ever since.
30 years of commitment to new hope. Over the past three decades, the foundation has made significant progress in leukaemia research.
Interactive research laboratory for the future.
A sustainable project with the active participation of affected children and young people to promote leukaemia research. The interactive research laboratory will be a place in the paediatric clinic where children and young people can not only learn, but also help to shape the future. Here they will have the opportunity to look at their own leukaemia cells, understand the disease and shed light on the reasons why certain tests need to be carried out. They will be able to better understand and support treatment decisions. This is a particularly important factor in the comprehensive care of children and their families with leukaemia. They also have the opportunity to help shape research projects. In addition to patients and families, a forum is also created here for young scientists to develop leukaemia research in a sustainable and future-oriented way.
